ICE Tower Low Profile Kit: maximum cooling headroom for Bitaxe and Nerdaxe
The ICE Tower Low Profile Kit is the top stage of the ICE Tower series. Four copper heatpipes pick the heat up at the ASIC and spread it into a flat, wide fin stack, with a 60 × 15 mm Noctua fan sitting above it.
The difference to the narrow tower design is direction: instead of leading the heat upwards, the low-profile build spreads it across an area and gives the large fan the whole block to work with. Buyers describe exactly that – stronger cooling in a flat build.
Why four heatpipes and a 60 mm fan belong together
- Four paths instead of two: more heatpipes pull the heat out of the small contact area faster, before it builds up.
- Large area, large air volume: a 60 mm fan achieves at low speed what a 40 mm fan would have to spin up for.
- Calm under sustained load: the bigger the buffer, the less often the fan curve steps up.
- A base for overclocking: more frequency creates more heat – this kit is built for that.
Building flat means building wider
The kit gets its performance from area, not height. The block sits low but reaches further beyond the board than the stock cooling. In an open build that is no problem; in a tight niche or a closed case you should measure first. One customer put it neatly: technically too big – but it works.

The kit fits Bitaxe and Nerdaxe boards, for example the Bitaxe Gamma or the Nerdaxe Gamma. It does not fit:

For users who run their board under permanent load, adjust frequency and voltage or work in a warm room. The kit provides the necessary buffer.
It is overkill if your miner runs at factory settings and should sit unobtrusively on a shelf. The smaller ICE Tower Kit is enough for that.
What you need to fit it
Everything necessary is included: heatsink, 60 mm Noctua, ASIC bracket with a 4-pin mount, thermal paste, four mounting pins and the Y-splitter cable. Clean the contact surface before the swap and seat the block evenly – afterwards compare temperature and fan speed with the values from before. Accessories and sensible upgrades
- Noctua NF-A6x15 as a replacement or second 60 mm fan on the Y-splitter.
- Copper heatsinks for the voltage regulators, which also warm up when overclocking.
