Nerdaxe Gaia Pro: around 3 TH/s from one BM1373 with copper cooling

The Nerdaxe Gaia Pro is the Nerdaxe Gaia with the AXP60 Copperzilla cooler fitted. Instead of the small stock heatsink with its 40 mm fan, the BM1373 carries 210 g of copper, two heat pipes and a 60 mm fan. With that headroom the chip comes factory-set to around 3 TH/s on roughly 33 W, about 11 J/TH. There is nothing for you to overclock. The Gaia Pro is available to pre-order and ships from 7 November 2026.

Everything else you know from the Gaia: ESP32-S3, 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, USB-C, the 1.9-inch TFT showing the live values and NerdOS in your browser. Pool, worker and Bitcoin address are yours; you need no account and no cloud.

Why cooling decides the hash rate

On the BM1373 the hash rate follows the clock directly. A higher clock needs more voltage, and together they produce more heat on a very small die. The stock cooler of the Gaia is designed for operation around 2.6 TH/s. Beyond that its 40 mm fan would have to spin ever faster to keep the chip in a safe range.

The Copperzilla solves this with mass: the copper takes up the heat quickly, the two heat pipes spread it into the fin stack, and the 60 mm fan carries it away. That keeps a margin to the temperature limit, even when the chip works at a higher clock around the clock.

Gaia Pro and Gaia side by side

  • Hash rate: around 3 instead of 2.6 TH/s, about 15 percent more from the same chip.
  • Power: roughly 33 instead of 25 W. The extra performance costs some efficiency, about 11 instead of 10 J/TH.
  • Cooling: 210 g of copper with two heat pipes and a 60 mm fan instead of the stock cooler with a 40 mm fan.
  • Unchanged: board, BM1373, ESP32-S3, display, power supply and the browser interface.

If frugal mining is your priority, the Gaia is the right choice. The Gaia Pro is for everyone who wants more out of the BM1373 without swapping the cooler themselves.

What 33 W means day to day

Running around the clock, the Gaia Pro uses about 24 kWh a month, a good 6 kWh more than the Gaia. What that costs at your tariff and how hash rate and power compare is worked out by the mining calculator with your own figures.

The 33 W end up as heat in the room and need air. Stand the Gaia Pro in the open, do not let the exhaust blow straight against a wall, and keep an eye on the chip temperature for the first few days. The copper cooler adds weight, so the Gaia Pro belongs on a firm, level surface with its stand.

Solo mining with around 3 TH/s

Every hash is a ticket in the same draw the large farms take part in. If your Gaia Pro finds the matching block, the full reward of currently 3.125 BTC plus transaction fees goes to your own address, undivided and with no provider in between. The roughly 15 percent extra hash rate raises your chance by the same proportion; it does not change its order of magnitude. How small it is, is shown in the article on the odds of finding a block.

Our solo pool pool.bitaxe.de runs in Frankfurt and charges a 0 % fee. The principle is explained in Bitcoin solo mining.

Pre-order: ships from 7 November 2026

The Gaia Pro is sold as a pre-order. Shipping starts on 7 November 2026, and orders go out in the order they were placed. You secure a unit from the first delivery, but you will have to wait until November for it.

Up and running in minutes

Setup works like on any Nerdaxe: power, 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and a browser are enough. The steps in detail are in the Nerdaxe setup guide.

  1. 1

    Connect it

Plug in the power supply; the miner starts and on first boot opens its own Wi-Fi network for setup.

  2. 2

    Set up Wi-Fi

Switch to that network, pick your 2.4 GHz home network and enter the password. The miner is then reachable through your router.

  3. 3

    Enter pool and address

Open NerdOS in your browser, enter pool, worker and your Bitcoin address, save and restart. For our solo pool that means host stratum.bitaxe.de, port 3333.

Who the Nerdaxe Gaia Pro is for

For everyone who wants a compact single-chip device and more out of the BM1373 than the stock cooling allows. If you mine around the clock, you benefit from the margin to the temperature limit that the copper cooler creates.

It is less of a fit when every watt counts: then the Nerdaxe Gaia at around 10 J/TH is the more efficient choice. And if you want clearly more hash rate, you end up at the NerdQaxe++ with around 4.8 TH/s at roughly 80 W.

Ready for the Gaia Pro?

Around 3 TH/s, roughly 33 W, one BM1373 and 210 g of copper: the Gaia Pro is the Gaia for everyone who wants more out of the chip without reaching for a screwdriver.

Frequently asked questions about the Nerdaxe Gaia Pro

When does the Nerdaxe Gaia Pro ship?

The Gaia Pro is a pre-order item. Shipping starts on 7 November 2026, and orders go out in the order they were placed.

What is the difference between the Nerdaxe Gaia and the Gaia Pro?

The cooling, and with it the operating point. The Gaia Pro carries the AXP60 Copperzilla cooler with 210 g of copper, two heat pipes and a 60 mm fan and runs at around 3 TH/s on roughly 33 W. The Nerdaxe Gaia with its stock cooler and 40 mm fan reaches around 2.6 TH/s on roughly 25 W. Chip, board and display are the same.

How much electricity does the Nerdaxe Gaia Pro use?

Roughly 33 W, so about 24 kWh a month in continuous operation. Check it with your own tariff in the mining calculator.

Why is the Gaia Pro less efficient than the Gaia?

Because a higher clock needs more voltage, so power draw rises faster than hash rate. That puts the Gaia Pro at around 11 J/TH and the Gaia at around 10 J/TH. You get about 15 percent more hash rate for about a third more power.

What is the AXP60 Copperzilla?

A copper cooler by Thermalright: 210 g of copper, two heat pipes and a 60 mm fan. On the Gaia Pro it comes fitted. It is also sold on its own as the AXP60 Copperzilla copper heatsink.

Is the Gaia Pro quieter than the Gaia?

We have no measurement, so we do not quote a dB figure. A 60 mm fan moves the same amount of air at a lower speed than a 40 mm fan, but at 33 W the Gaia Pro also produces more waste heat. How loud it ends up is set by the fan curve in NerdOS.

Which ASIC is inside the Nerdaxe Gaia Pro?

A single BM1373, the same chip as in the Nerdaxe Gaia. The only difference is the cooling, which allows a higher clock over the long run.

Do I have to overclock the Gaia Pro myself?

No. The Gaia Pro ships factory-set to around 3 TH/s. You connect it to your Wi-Fi, enter pool and Bitcoin address and you are done. You can change frequency and voltage in NerdOS later, but you do not have to.

Can I overclock the Gaia Pro further?

Frequency and voltage can be adjusted in NerdOS. Out of the box, though, the chip already runs at around 3 TH/s, well above the factory setting of the Gaia, and every further step costs efficiency and loads the voltage regulator and power supply. Procedure and limits are in the overclocking guide.

Is a power supply included?

Yes. The box contains the Gaia Pro with the cooler fitted, a 12 V power supply, the stand and a quick start guide. You only need to add a socket, Wi-Fi and your Bitcoin address.

Does the Gaia Pro work on 5 GHz Wi-Fi?

No, the ESP32-S3 only uses the 2.4 GHz band. If your router broadcasts both bands under one name, switch 5 GHz off briefly for the setup or create a separate 2.4 GHz network.

Can I solo mine with the Gaia Pro?

Yes. In NerdOS you enter a solo pool or your own node, for example our pool pool.bitaxe.de with a 0 % fee. More hash rate means more tickets, but solo mining stays a matter of luck, not a plannable return.

Gaia Pro or NerdQaxe++?

The NerdQaxe++ delivers around 4.8 TH/s with four chips but draws roughly 80 W. The Gaia Pro reaches around 3 TH/s with one chip at 33 W. If hash rate is what you want, take the NerdQaxe++; if you are after a small, frugal device, take the Gaia Pro.
