Bitaxe affiliate program: 5 % commission on every referral, no network in between

Almost every second Bitaxe we ship goes back to a recommendation: a video, a forum post, a Telegram chat, a colleague with a miner on his desk. Nobody has been paid for that work so far. We are changing that with the Bitaxe affiliate program: whoever refers an order via their link or discount code receives 5 % of the net order value. No affiliate network, no 40 pages of fine print, one dashboard, monthly payouts. This article explains how the program calculates, who can apply, what the dashboard shows and where the limits are.

Three steps to the first euro

1. Apply. Name, email, a link to your channel, community or blog and a few sentences on how you plan to recommend. We review every application by hand, usually within a few days.
2. Recommend. After approval you have a code like ?ref=yourname that you can append to any page of Bitaxe.de: home page, a product, a guide. On request we also set up a discount code for your community.
3. Earn. Every paid order via your link or code appears in the dashboard. After delivery and the holding period the commission is released and paid in the next run.

How the commission is calculated

The basis is the net order value: the value of the goods without shipping and without VAT, after any redeemed discount. On that you get 5 %. It is deliberately the same basis we calculate with, because VAT and shipping are pass-through items that do not stay with us. An order from Switzerland or Norway runs without German VAT, so there the net value equals the invoice amount without shipping.

Individual products or categories may carry different rates, for promotions or for accessories with very small margins. The breakdown of every commission sits in the dashboard next to the entry: which item, which net value, which rate. You do not have to calculate anything, but you can check everything.

Link or discount code: two ways of attribution

The referral link is the standard way. When someone clicks it, the shop remembers your code for the current visit. If the visitor accepts cookies in the consent bar, the attribution lasts 30 days, even if they close the page and come back next week. If they decline cookies, attribution applies to that visit only. That is the privacy-compliant variant, and it is the reason we do not use a third-party affiliate network: there, attribution runs on tracking scripts we do not want on our site.

The discount code is the second way, and often the better one for communities. You get a code like YOURNAME5 that gives your people 5 % off and attributes the order to you, no link required. It works in podcasts, in Telegram groups, at meetups, anywhere nobody clicks a link. If a customer redeems your code, the code wins, even if they arrived via another partner’s link before.

Each order has exactly one attribution and exactly one discount code. The Bitcoin discount at checkout is exempt and remains available on top. Your own orders via your own link do not count, nor do orders to your own email address.

Who the program is for

• YouTube channels and streams about Bitcoin, hardware and DIY, whether 500 or 50,000 subscribers
• Blogs, newsletters and podcasts with a technical audience
• Telegram, Discord and forum communities where solo mining is a topic
• Meetups and local Bitcoin groups that regularly take beginners by the hand
• Developers and tinkerers who publish firmware, cases or guides and get asked anyway where to buy the miner

It is not meant for coupon sites, for ads on our brand names and for accounts that only want to discount their own purchase. We read every application and look at the channel. Anyone who just posts a link without content or a community behind it gets a friendly no.

What the partner dashboard shows

After signing in you see on one page what is happening: clicks, orders and net revenue in the selected period, plus your balance in four stages: pending, payable, in payout, paid. Two charts show clicks and commission per day, per week for longer periods. Under “Orders” every attributed order is listed with date, shortened order number, source (link or code) and commission. You do not see customer data, no names, addresses or emails. That is not chicanery but privacy: the customers ordered from us, not from you.

Under “Commissions” every entry expands to the breakdown per item. Under “Links & code” you find your link, your code and a generator that turns any Bitaxe.de address into your referral variant, plus a ready-made list for all products. Under “Profile” you enter the payout details: IBAN or Bitcoin address, VAT ID or small-business status. Changes require your password and trigger a security email.

Release, reversal, payout

A commission is created when the order is paid, not when it is placed. It then shows as “pending”. 30 days after delivery it is released automatically. The period covers the 14-day withdrawal right plus the parcel’s way back. If an order is cancelled, withdrawn or partially refunded, we reverse the commission proportionally. That can also affect a commission that was already released; the deduction then appears as a reversal in the dashboard. Suspicious orders, for example from the same IP address as your partner account, are reviewed manually before release.

Released balance is paid out from €50, by SEPA transfer or in Bitcoin to the address in your profile. Payouts run monthly in the first week. You receive an email with amount and reference; the history is in the dashboard. There are no automatic transfers; a human looks at every payout before it goes out. That is slower than a click, but it is the reason no bot can harvest commissions with fake orders here.

The ground rules

• Disclosure. Referral links are advertising and are labelled as such, as required on your platform. An “affiliate link” note in the video description is enough.
• No ads on our brand. No paid search ads on “Bitaxe.de”, “buy Bitaxe” or our product names. Those clicks would have reached us anyway.
• No spam, no hidden redirects, no coupon sites.
• No self-purchases. That is what the discount code is for: you cannot redeem it yourself, but your people can.
• Either side can stop at any time. Released balance is still paid out afterwards. In case of violations we suspend the account; pending commissions from non-compliant orders are forfeited.

Why we built it ourselves

There are ready-made affiliate networks that connect something like this in an hour. We decided against them for three reasons. First, privacy: those networks set tracking cookies and load third-party scripts, and that is exactly what we do not do on Bitaxe.de. Our attribution runs via a session and, only with consent, via a cookie that contains nothing but a code. Second, cost: networks take a 20 to 30 % surcharge on every commission. That money is better off with you. Third, control: we see every attribution, every entry and every payout ourselves and can answer questions in a minute instead of opening a ticket with a network.

The price is a program that deliberately stays simple. There are no tier models, no bonuses from 100 sales, no banner library. There is one rate, one link, one code, one dashboard and one payout. If it turns out partners need more, we will build it.

How this fits with the Bitaxe Pool and Rewards

The affiliate program is the third building block next to the Bitaxe Pool and Bitaxe Rewards. The pool takes the fee off your miners, Rewards give points for every terahash hour, the affiliate program pays for the recommendation. For a community mining in a SOLO group on the pool, it fits together: the group leader recommends the miner, the members get a discount via his code, and everyone collects points on the same pool. Anyone who wants to work out which miner pays off for their group uses the mining calculator.

Fill in the form at bitaxe.de/en/affiliate: name, email, password, country, your channel and a few sentences on your audience and plans. Then confirm your email address via the link in our email. We get back to you once we have decided. After approval you enter your payout details in the profile, take your link or code and get going.
