Open source decides the future of Bitcoin.
Bitaxe.de was the first European supplier of open-source Bitcoin home mining hardware, online since March 2023. Since then we have followed one clear goal: Bitcoin mining should not belong to large farms alone but be understandable and accessible for ordinary people at home.
Our mission
We want to put Bitcoin mining back into the hands of the community.
Over the past years mining has been dominated more and more by large farms and professional operators. We believe a decentralised network is only truly strong when as many people as possible can take part themselves.
With compact open-source miners, fair products and honest support we make it easier to start mining – without unnecessary hurdles and without empty marketing promises.
Our mission is to make Bitcoin mining understandable, accessible and personal again.

More than 5,000 home miners have bought their hardware from us – and bring their questions about Wi-Fi, pools or overclocking to people who run the same devices themselves. Our goal is that you feel well looked after from the first question far beyond the purchase. That is why we rely on understandable products, honest communication and help when it is actually needed.
Part of every purchase flows back into open source
Bitaxe, Nerdaxe and NerdOS only exist because developers publish their work freely. That is why we donate part of our revenue to open-source development – directly to individual developers whose work runs inside the devices we sell.
We only donate where it is traceable what happens with the money. For that reason we currently do not donate to OSMU – as long as the use of donations there is not transparently disclosed. The intransparent use of donations has been criticised in the community for years. Should that change, we will gladly reconsider. Until then: the money goes to where the innovation comes from.
